Participants were tasked with drawing and writing a short manga depicting Qatari culture and traditions in a way that would interest and appeal to a Japanese audience. The concept behind the competition was to present a fusion of both cultures by representing Qatari culture through a medium that is part of Japanese culture.
The competition winners received a free Japanese language course from Eastern Language Centre. The top 3 entries were printed in a booklet and distributed in Tokyo during 'Ferjaan: Qatar week in Tokyo'.
