Dialogue of Paper - Hayaki Nishigaki and Yousef Ahmad in Doha

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Japan, we will host one of the Japanese artists who is working on handmade paper. Hayaki Nishigaki will be hosted by Yousef Ahmad in his art studio.

In addition, the Japanese artist will bring with him paper doughs from Japan to be mixed with the Qatar palm frond doughs in collaboration with Yousef Ahmad. Through the produced papers, both artists will create joint artworks. The resulting artworks will contain Arabic and Japanese calligraphy as an aesthetic element on paper. Then the exhibition will show the results of this experiment in Qatar and Japan. The artist Yousef Ahmad has expressed his welcome to host the Japanese artist in his studio, and will provide him with daily requirements.
