Create & Inspire Expedition

Museum of Islamic Art Park, Doha

Create & Inspire is an initiative to discover talented young artists in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and the UK. In 2014, 12 artists were chosen to take part in the creative journey of a lifetime to Brazil during the Qatar-Brazil 2014 Year of Culture.

Winners of the competition were invited on an exciting expedition to further their skills in their chosen disciplines (the arts, film and photography), exploring Brazil’s vibrant landscape and creative scene by collaborating with local arts and social organisations in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Ouro Preto, Inhotim, Belo Horizonte, Serra do Cipó, Cachoeira and Salvador.

Cultural Exchange Programs

The young creatives had the opportunity to meet with local artists, galleries and museums across the country, culminating in an exhibition of works inspired by their journey at the Museum of Islamic Art Park in Doha.

The initiative was run by the Crossway Foundation with the support of Art Jameel and Qatar Museums.
